Lake Las Vegas has a rather extravagant history behind the entire developmental phases.  In fact, the  Lake Las Vegas Joint Venture actually filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in July of 2008.  It was originally acquired in 1967 under the name of Lake Adair.  The actor, J. Carlton Adair is the original developer but found himself in bankruptcy shortly after the purchase.  At that time, another developer came in and took over the entire project once Adair failed.  This new owners name was Ronald Boeddeker and he is the one that worked with the US Government to take over the project and continue the process of development for what is today, Lake Las Vegas.

In 1995, Lake Las Vegas went through several different ownership transitions which included Henry Gluck, the former chairman and CEO for Caesars World.  The property eventually ended up with two very wealthy billionaires from Texas.  Sid and Lee Bass were fast to take over the project and invested over $5 billion borrowed dollars to do so.  They too found themselves in trouble financially and ended up filing bankruptcy as well.resort at Lake Las Vegas
